RESOURCES and MEMBERSHIP

Do you need information and resource help? As a volunteer, we try to respond as quickly as possible to all requests about our local CHADD group.

However, if you have a more pressing need for information or assistance about the many aspects of dealing with AD/HD (including diagnosis, treatment options, educational rights, etc.), please contact CHADD’s National Resource Center on AD/HD (NRC), online at www.help4adhd.org or by phone at 800-233-4050 (press option 2, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Eastern time).

The NRC is staffed by trained Health Information Specialists who can answer many of your questions about AD/HD and provide other helpful information and resources.  (NOTE: although the NRC does not provide legal, medical or other professional advice, Specialists can offer ideas and suggestions to help you find what you are looking for).

Community resources and national resources:  We have a list of local non-profit organizations, national organizations and CHADD professional and organizational members who have requested to be in our directory in the area in the links section.

Our Programs and Services:

Donations (tax deductible) and CHADD membership fees are accepted at the door.
  • Parent training:  CHADD's Parent to Parent training on AD/HD. The entire course takes about 14 hours of time and is usually offered as a seven-week class, meeting for two hours once a week. Participants receive extensive materials to support them, including articles, reference materials, handouts, and homework assignments.  There is a fee for the class and it is only available to CHADD members.  You can join CHADD when you register for the class or you can join CHADD online or by calling 800-233-4050.

Disclaimer:  CHADD does not endorse or represent products, services, publication, medications or treatments.

Volunteer Opportunities:

VOLUNTEERS:   Do you want to help, but can only offer a couple hours a month of your time?  We have some positions that are perfect for you.

HOST TEAM MEMBER: Meeting greeters.  You help to make newcomers feel welcome, assist members with sign-in, snacks, handout and membership information.  You can also assist with donations and membership fees at the meetings.  Come at 6PM, prior to the start of the meeting to be a greeter!

CORE LOGISTICS TEAM MEMBER:  We are seeking a few volunteers to be part of the Core Logistics Team.  As we get our volunteer team established, we will plan to have informal meetings to discuss/brainstorm ideas to grow our group and efforts to educate and provide resources for our community.  As a part of the core team, we will plan events and workshops, help find community support and activities that may be of interest to the membership and maybe a party or two.  Recurring Meeting frequency will be established as we fill our volunteers group.

COMMITTEE LEADERS:  We are moving toward planning more fundraisers, awareness events and participating in awareness fairs.  We are seeking creative and resourceful volunteers to lead committees for these activities.

Please send Kim an email or call at 303-753-1783 to discuss your interest in volunteer opportunities at more length.
