Welcome!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our April meeting.  We had a great open discussion on many topics.  Our next meeting will be the second Wednesday in May, the 8th, from 7-9 pm.  Light refreshments will be served.  We hope to see you there!  Come connect with others in our area and find the support you need.  Parents of children with ADHD, adults living with ADHD, and partners and caregivers are welcome.

If you put your email on our sign in sheet, you will receive a reminder email about the upcoming meeting.  If you would like to be added to our distribution list, go to the "Contact Us" page and email Melissa.

Don't forget to check out our "More" page...lots of good info.  If you are in need of the OT services we discussed at the October meeting, click on the link to the Florida Elks program on that page.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  DUVAL CHADD MEETINGS HAVE MOVED TO THE 2ND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH!  We are so grateful to the Ronald McDonald House for allowing us to use their facilities each month for so many years.  To accommodate different events on their campus, it is necessary for us to move our meetings to the 2nd Wednesday of the month.  We will now be meeting in their Community Room, which will allow us more space to bring in guest speakers, greater audio/visual capabilities, and the opportunity to have refreshments!

At Duval County CHADD we are committed to providing the most up to date information concerning services and treatments for ADHD children and their parents. We have monthly speakers and programs that are led by professionals who work with ADHD families in the community. Question and answer periods are held during each meeting.  We have the goal of improving communication with the Duval County School System and working with them to provide better in school services for ADHD children.

Are you an adult with ADHD?  Come connect others like yourself! Learn up-to-date information and find resources for coping with your ADHD.  Be a source of experience and wisdom for parents struggling to understand what their ADHD children are going through.  Newly diagonosed?  CHADD is a national clearinghouse on evidence-based practices for the treatment of ADHD.

COME JOIN US AND FEEL HOPEFUL ABOUT YOUR ADHD!

DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE MEETING WE CAN NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO ATTEND THE MEETINGS AS WE DON'T OFFER BABYSITTING SERVICES.

Do you need immediate assistance?

As a volunteer, I may not be able to get back to you if you need immediate assistance.  If you are seeking information for something that is time-sensitive (such as an IEP/Section 504 meeting at your child’s school), or are looking for a local  professional with AD/HD expertise, please contact CHADD’s National Resource Center on AD/HD (NRC), online at www.help4adhd.org or by phone toll-free at 800-233-4050 (press option 2, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Eastern time).  The NRC is staffed by trained health information professionals who can answer many of your questions about AD/HD and provide other helpful information and resources. (NOTE: the NRC does not provide legal or medical advice, but can offer ideas and suggestions to help you find what you are looking for).

CHADD does not endorse or represent products, services, publication, medications or treatments. Meetings are free and open to the public, although membership with CHADD is strongly encouraged, since your local group will receive a portion of your dues to continue supporting your community.
