Rethinking ADHD: Why Compassion Changes Everything

The call for compassion for ADHD people is loud!  This approach is deeply healing and depathologizes ADHD. In the process of our time together you will learn an empowering evolutionary perspective of what ADHD is and why it’s imperative that we learn to cultivate self-compassion and compassionate mind skills. My presentation is empirically based but is also strongly influenced by my personal experience of living as an ADHD human being for 56 years and from my 29 years as a mental health professional working with ADHD individuals and their families.

Speaker:

Chris Fraser is the owner of Positive Path Counseling in Dublin, Ohio. Since 1996, he has worked with individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families in both public and private settings. He specializes in helping people develop compassion-focused therapy (CFT) skills to become the best versions of themselves more consistently.

With 29 years of experience, Chris integrates compassion-focused therapy (CFT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and has trained with the creators of both approaches. He speaks locally, nationally, and internationally on these topics.

Since 2004, Chris has served as an adjunct instructor at The Ohio State University College of Social Work. He co-authored Freedom: How Teens Can Use Mindful Compassion to Thrive in a Chaotic World and is currently developing the Compassion Focused Therapy and Wellness Center of the Midwest.

Outside of his work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, being in nature, and connecting with others in the global compassion-focused therapy community.
