About Us
Portland Metro CHADD is support group of the national nonprofit Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD). Our collective mission is to empower individuals affected by ADHD. Our vision is a world that recognizes, incoporates, and celebrates the strengths of those with ADHD.
CHADD strives to create spaces where people impacted by ADHD come together to learn, connect, and grow through evidence-based education and peer support — because thriving with ADHD begins with finding your people and knowing you’re not alone.
ADHD is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that affects executive function, self-regulation, and emotional processing. Research shows that ADHD-related challenges can shorten life expectancy by up to 13 years*, yet outcomes improve dramatically when individuals have access to accurate diagnosis, compassionate education, effective treatment, skill-building, and supportive communities.
Through local and national peer-led groups, educational meetups, and community learning events, CHADD helps people connect, learn, and grow together.

CHADD Local Groups Need Your Support
CHADD has local groups throughout the United States. Each group offers programming or information specific to their geographic area. Local CHADD groups offer assistance for parents, children, young adults, adults and other stakeholders (psychologists, teachers, doctors, etc.). CHADD groups also provide advocacy, support, networking and information to those affected by ADHD in their communities.
Ways you can support these efforts are as follows:
-
Donate to this effort
-
Contact your local CHADD group to advocate for support groups
-
Contact your school district to host and support newly forming or current groups
-
Contact your local community foundation or other foundations in your area to support this effort
For questions on these, or any options to support CHADD please visit our web site at https://CHADD..org or contact the CHADD National office at (301) 306-7070.
