Can I volunteer or help run the chapter?
YES! As our chapter grows, we will need more volunteers to run other support groups, moderate the Reddit community, plan and coordinate guest speakers, etc. Moving forward, our chapter will form an elected board to handle governance, finances, event/program oversight, volunteer coordination, and ensures compliance with CHADD national requirements and any local bylaws.
Do I have to be diagnosed with ADHD to join Portland Metro CHADD?
No. Portland Metro CHADD supports children, adults, family members and those impacted by ADHD or ADHD-related symptoms. You do not have to have a diagnosis to be a member of the group.
Does is cost to join the Portland Metro CHADD?
No, the Portland Metro CHADD group does not charge local membership dues for participation in its support groups, events, or activities. Local chapters like Portland Metro are volunteer-led and typically free to join and attend, relying on donations, national support, and occasional event-specific fees rather than requiring local fees.

What is CHADD?
CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a national nonprofit organization that provides evidence-based education, advocacy, and support for children, teens, and adults with ADHD.
What is Portland Metro CHADD?
Portland Metro CHADD is support group of the national nonprofit CHADD. Our collective mission is to empower individuals affected by ADHD. Our vision is a world that recognizes, incorporates, and celebrates the strengths of those with ADHD.
What support groups will be offered?
We will have support groups for adults with ADHD and parents of children with ADHD. Once our chapter grows, we can add support groups such as ADHD teen support. We will offer a combination of both in person and online support groups on a monthly basis. Please click on the events pages to view upcoming support groups.
