For Adults: The ADHD Tax
From late fees, compromised relationships, stacks of unopened mail, missed opportunities, lost jobs, missed promotions, business failures, delayed health care, trouble getting through school, or fractured self-esteem, the ADHD Tax has many faces, and deep reaching effects on our lives. If you are tired of it, and want to learn systems and routines that actually work for your brain, this is for you. We will discuss the “Intention / Action” gap: Activation, avoidance, distraction, incompletion, and poor prioritizing skills. So many things contribute to the tax. It’s like “driving with the parking brake on.”

Understanding Dyslexia: Is It ADHD, Dyslexia, or Both?
Join us to learn about the warning signs of Dyslexia, the difference between a “therapeutic diagnosis” and an “educational classification,” and co-morbid conditions. We will learn about mental health factors associated with Dyslexia, and gain an understanding that emotional symptoms and academic deficits both require immediate attention. Then, we will discuss advocacy tips and ways for families to support children with Dyslexia. These supports cultivate independence and self-advocacy skills for mental health wellness through both K-12 and college education.

Adult ADHD and the Workplace: Difficulties and Opportunities
Dr. Ramsay will summarize the contemporary understanding of ADHD and how this understanding sheds light on some of the common difficulties faced by adults with ADHD in the workplace. In addition to highlighting some under utilized coping strategies for adults with ADHD at work, some easy to employ steps to support adults with ADHD at work (and that others might find helpful, too) will also be suggested.
