Does Utah have a self guided course?

Unfortunately, Utah does not have a self guided course but National has several options.  If you are interested you can find out more information about what they offer by going to their website.

Is there a scholarship for the Parent to Parent course?

Yes,

There is a scholoarship available for the Parent to Parent course for those that are not able to pay the full $80.  All you will need to do is fill out the application form and email it chadd-of-utah@chadd.org with your registration information.

What if I pay for the Utah Parent to Parent course and I have to miss a class?

Unfortunately, there are no recordings available but once you pay you can attend as many future sessions as you would like for free as long as you don't want a new book.  This way you can catch up on any missed sessions or get a refresher on anything.

All you will need to do is email us at chadd-of-utah@chadd.org telling which session you paid for and we will send you out the class link when we send it out to the current participants.

Who teaches the Parent to Parent course?

There are several different instructors that teach the course.

The main instructors are Alicia, Ginger and Jenn and they went to a CHADD instructor training and have been teaching the course for over 10 years.

There are also medical professionals that come and instruct on week 2 about medication options.

Ginger and Jenn are also certified Special Educators with the State of Utah so they usually teach week 3 and 4 about behavioral strategies.  They also have children that have ADHD

For week 5 a Davis School District employee such as the director of Special Educatuon, 504 director or the director over special education classrooms come in and teaches about IEPs and 504s.

Alicia usually teaches week 7.  She has an engineering background but she has 2 boys with severe ADHD combined with behavior disorders and she has worked with many professionals to get support.  She is able to bring what she has learned to the class.  She also has ADHD herself and so she has lived through it and brings that experience in when teaching week 7.
