                                     CHADD

TRI CHADD NJ  is the NJ State representative for CHADD.  We provide a place to land when looking for answers when trying to navigate the multitude of available information about ADHD. CHADD or Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is the national premiere organization on ADHD. We are a parent run and parent lead  501(3) (c) non profit, that started in 1987, with a few parents just like you, in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with ADHD. CHADD has become the authority on ADHD, from children's presentation to managing as an adult,  to being a senior and perhaps still not having a diagnosis.

Many times, parents will discover, after they begin to research ADHD, that they too have been facing a lifetime of challenges as well. Sometimes, it is much later in a person's life when they begin to recognized the same symtoms and functional impairments, that their children present with. The chance to share our story, is our strength and common ground. Knowing that ADHD is a treatable medical condition, brings peace and hope to our families. Knowing we have much more for treating it than ever before is priceless.

TRI CHADD NJ is the way to connect to the Professional and stakeholder ADHD community. Parents, Adults, Teachers, Clinicians and all who are affected by ADHD are welcome to our local ADHD education meetings right here in Central NJ.  Meetings are free and open to the public. Treatment for ADHD is not just medication. A families education and support must happen for treatment to be successful, and that starts here. When families connect with our local ADHD education meetings, managing ADHD becomes doable!

They say everyone has a superpower. Knowing when you need another superhero's help, is a major "superpower" itself and  "knowing your not alone" is the bonus takeaway. Clinicians provide you with the diagnosis and medical treatment. We provide the resources for everything else. Please join us and learn all you can about ADHD and how it affects and impairs one's self management system without their consent and therefore every part of your and your child's day.

How just knowing this... is not only very important information to know, is transforminal.

CHADD Local Groups Need Your Support

CHADD has local groups throughout the United States. Each group offers programming or information specific to their geographic area. Local CHADD groups offer assistance for parents, children, young adults, adults and other stakeholders (psychologists, teachers, doctors, etc.). CHADD groups also provide advocacy, support, networking and information to those affected by ADHD in their communities.

Ways you can support these efforts are as follows:

  • Donate to this effort

  • Contact your local CHADD group to advocate for support groups

  •  Contact your school district to host and support newly forming or current groups

  • Contact your local community foundation or other foundations in your area to support this effort

For questions on these, or any options to support CHADD please visit our web site at https://CHADD..org or contact the CHADD National office at (301) 306-7070.
